Jon Bailey, President

Jon has 35 years of experience in the construction industry. After studying construction management at the University of Cincinnati Jon started his own contracting company. Eventually Jon saw the need for a qualified staffing company in the construction industry and started Grus in 1990 as a sister company to a well established contracting firm. This gave Grus the skilled craftsmen resources needed to get off the ground as a new enterprise and grow into the national company it is today. Jon has hired or supervised the hiring of many 1,000's of skilled craftsmen over the years and knows firsthand the labor needs of Contractors and the best way to meet those needs. Jon teaches that talented individuals, not only in the field craft workers Grus hires but also talented staff that make up the Grus team, are vital to the success of the company and the Clients that Grus serves.

Michael Whelan, Controller

Michael began his tenure with the company back in 2000 as a consultant before becoming a permanent fixture on our staff in 2003. Michael is degreed in Finance with additional schooling in Information Management. Michael's skillset is rich with many of the tools Grus needs and benefits from when it comes to vital management functions. Michael contributes steadily to the development of database integration with powerful software programs that keep Grus operating with the greatest efficiency to the benefit of our Clients. Michael enjoys the challenge of working for such a forward moving company that lives the philosophy of continuous improvement.

Heather Smith, Sr. Account Manager

Heather's range of responsibilities include overseeing, motivating and training sales staff to ensure positive and successful Client relationships. Heather possesses over 10 years of sales experience, 6 of which have been with Grus. Heather began working for Grus as a Recruiter and moved steadily into supervision, Account Management and now serves as an Assistant to the Operations Manager. Heather's passion for the Grus operation is evident on a daily basis. When a Contractor runs into labor problems, Heather will usually know the best course of action to remedy the issue. When she is out of the office, Heather enjoys family, fashion and fitness!

Angela Russell, A/R Manager

Angela has been steadily advancing in her position with Grus for over 5 years. Angela is responsible for accounts receivable, collections and contract enforcement. She is also a part of senior management serving as a key Assistant to the Operations Manager on various tasks in many areas of Grus operations. Angela is very excited about the work that Grus does. She loves that her day-to-day routine is challenging and diverse, and is grateful to be a part of an organization that is steadily progressing and growing. Contractor accounting departments enjoy working with Angela and her patient and mild manner.

Clint Jones, Sr. Account Manager

Clint is a tenured Grus employee who has been immersed in the General Contracting business since returning from the Navy in 2002. Clint is an integral part of the sales team at Grus. He routinely demonstrates leadership and professionalism enabling Grus’ reputation to grow. Clint expertly develops and cares for relationships with contractors across the country and functions well in the Grus team environment. When not on the phones, you’ll find him spending time with his family, hunting camping, and fishing.

Angie Pullano, Sr. Recruiter

Angie has been a pillar of Grus for the past three years. Angie performs an integral part of the coordinating and training of the recruiting team. She is responsible for interviewing, qualifying, and placing tradesmen to represent our company to our clients. Angie also manages online job postings and other key database administration and troubleshooting. Her previous positions in Human Resources have focused on hiring, payroll, management, and computer databases. Angie enjoys the fact that Grus regularly reviews it’s business plan and puts into effect immediate changes which ensure that the company will stay ahead of the competition and grow. She also handles Account Manager responsibilities for unique accounts that Grus services.

Patrick Connelly, Sr. Recruiter

Patrick works daily as a recruiter. His Graduate schooling majoring in Education is a reason why Patrick is used significantly to train staff here at Grus. Patrick loves that he gets to help craftsmen learn about new positions and to prepare for their next job assignment. The satisfaction of placing an employee on the best job for them motivates Patrick everyday. Call into the Grus office and you will often end up talking with Patrick.

Amy Clavier, Sr. Recruiter

Amy is responsible for supervising the Recruiter assignments and cares for important tasks in the hiring process of our tradesmen. Amy is energetic and enthusiastic about our business and her daily contribution does much to ensure that operations run smoothly. Amy finds joy in knowing she’s helping someone go to work. Amy thrives on the new challenges and situations that arise daily. She also supports the marketing work that goes on daily. Amy is known for being passionate about caring for what is in the best interests of craft workers working for Grus in the field.

Candice Hemphill, Recruiter

Candice enjoys interacting and working with people all over the country. Throughout Candice’s time with Grus, craftsmen and employees alike, enjoy her polite and courteous approach to a sometimes hectic environment. She continually strives to improve her skills and learn all she can about the various trades Grus staffs. She loves working for such a forward-thinking, motivated company, and loves when she knows she’s helping a skilled worker reach their goals. Candice is also actively involved in international volunteer work and is extremely family oriented. Candice is the kind of person you can ask to switch to marketing or back to recruiting at a moments notice and yet you can be confident that she will still perform in a positive, pleasant and skillful manner.

Jim Gadinski, Recruiter

Jim finished his Bachelors degree with honors. He had two years of experience working in the staffing industry prior to coming onboard with Grus. Jim’s willingness to assist workers in meeting their goals is an asset to the Grus team. He will tell you the best part of his job is the positive experiences in helping Grus’ top Journeyman perform to their potential. Jim is known for his patience when giving assistance to craft workers inquiring about positions and can be found working the latest hours to see that everyone has access to a Recruiter.

Emily Williams, Sales Manager

In addition to her role as Sales Manager, Emily also handles Account Manager responsibilities including rate negotiations and servicing Grus Client’s. She also interviews, hires and supervises new staff members that join the Grus team. Emily has twenty years of experience in the Staffing Industry, having worked for top national firms.
